"A short time-lapse feature showcasing the creation of a full back tattoo art piece, painted by Joey Pang in her private workshop. The snakes have been crafted using a softer brush technique, more resembling shadows thereby accentuating the brightly colored cherry blossoms in the foreground. This Chinese water or ink-brush technique remains comparatively abstract with the compositions' feeling, movement and aesthetics taking precedence over say realistic depictions of any one element. Gradations within the ink form implied structures and details. As in Chinese calligraphy, the juxtaposition of black and red ink offers a quietly striking depth and contrast. Starting with a concept of merging floral elements and serpents, this particular art work is in the process of being applied on our friend Nicola. Photos of the healed composition on-skin as well as the video of sessions are scheduled to be released in mid-2017"
